Quantum information science and engineering forms the forefront of the current research landscape of physics. Despite being a relatively new arena, it is lush with science that is rapidly developing and addressing our fundamental understanding of the universe. Our guest for this episode, Prof. Archana Kamal, leads a group at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, that deals with and adds to the gamut of flourishing ideas in the same stead. In our conversation with her, we discussed about her journey which led her to discover her own calling, the brilliant depth of a passionate calling, and the field, simultaneously, as a scientific researcher. Being a thorough physicist herself, who likes to deal with theoretical ideas as deeply, as she is adept at performing complex experiments in laboratories - she unveiled her perspectives on the process, and practices of working in such a swift-flowing field of research that lines up to form the top running contenders for quantum computing and the new world technological revolution. ABOUT THE GUEST

speaker

Prof. Archana Kamal Associate Professor, University of Massachusetts, Lowell.

Prof. Archana pursued her bachelors from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, and then went on to IIT Delhi for her Masters degree. She then decided to move to Yale University, where she performed her doctoral research work. Thereafter, her postdoctoral research work was carried out at MIT, following which, started her own research group QUEST at UMass, Lowell, where she currently is an Associate Professor. Being a thorough physicist herself, who likes to deal with theoretical ideas as deeply, as she is adept at performing complex experiments in laboratories - in the conversation unveiled her perspectives on the process, and practices of working in such a swift-flowing field of research that lines up to form the top running contenders for quantum computing and the new world technological revolution.
